~~Touched~~ Without taking her eyes from the sky, Gadget asked, "What do you think about when you look at the stars, Chip?" ~~You say that I am too~~ "People just call me Justice. Funny, nobody ever bothers to ask if it's my actual name anymore. No need. Everyone on street knows if you cross the law, Justice will come calling. And unlike revenge, Justice is a dish best served red hot and smoking." ~~So much of what you say is true~~ Instead of blending the pieces together in a new synthesis, each building seemed to be forced together unwieldy, resulting in a gaunt, dying visage; one in excruciating and almost unbearable pain. What unnerved her most, however, was how aptly that seemed to apply to the animals she passed by as they started off. ~~I'll never find someone~~ ~~Quite like you~~ ~~Again~~ Neither of the two Rangers wanted to face the possibility that they may have, for the first time, taken another's life in the line of duty. The very notion twisted their stomachs to no regard. ~~I'll never find someone~~ ~~Quite like you, like you~~ "On these animals," Doug replied. "We already found out that animal intelligence may very well exist right under our noses, and we found that out after only doing a general, broad search. If you're right, Ted, and these animals -- among others -- have developed some type of society parallel to our own, then we are probably tripping over decisive evidence without even realizing it." ~~The razors and the dying roses~~ ~~Plead I don't leave you alone~~ "He's still crying. I'd rather wait until he's completely drained of hope and emotion, so there's no pathetic pleas for mercy. I hate that." ~~The demi-gods and~~ ~~Hungry ghosts~~ "Are you sure you're ready for this?" Gadget smiled and whispered, "Yes. I'd like to see my mother. It's been a long time." "Yes," he said, returning her smile fully. "Yes it has. Come along." ~~God, God knows I'm not at home~~ "Never mind him!" she shrieked in terror. "We are going to DIE unless we LEAVE NOW!!" "Fox--" "DALE!! PLEASE--" Foxglove never finished her sentence. ~~I'll never find someone~~ ~~Quite like you~~ ~~Again~~ "Of course," Dr. Speck replied, then frowned. "I certainly hope you don't expect me to swing down on a zip line with a gun blazing and frothing at the mouth like some fanfic character, though." ~~I'll never find someone~~ ~~Quite like you~~ ~~Again~~ "You want some of me?" Gadget quietly breathed in a taunting fashion as she watched her opponent's countenance on the screen with riveted eyes. "Come and get some, baby." ~~I looked into your eyes and~~ ~~Saw a world that does not exist~~ A sudden urge to run to the nearest one and whip off the obscuring drapery, to reveal what lay underneath welled up from out of nowhere, and Zipper felt his muscles lock into place as he realized that some innate fear was countering this urge, freezing him in place as if it was some sort of safety catch. ~~I looked into your eyes and~~ ~~Saw a world I wish I was in~~ She came to realize that she was begin suspended, though she wasn't tied up. Groaning, her eyes opened fully, the flickering light of fire from a series of wall-mounted torches illuminating the setting before her in a truly appropriate somber and unsettling way. ~~I'll never find someone~~ In her vastly impressive vocabulary, the only thing which Gadget could dredge up was, "Oh... my... God...." ~~Quite as touched as you~~ As the blackness began to wash over him, Monterey's final thoughts were not for him: I'm sorry, Gadget.... ~~I'll never love someone~~ "Let's get of here," Dale fiercely whispered, "let's get out of here...." ~~Quite the way~~ Dear Lord, Zipper breathed in disbelief. ~~That I loved you~~ Please Gadget, Chip thought desperately, be alive.
